r+s (Errepiuesse) design studio, founded by Rosaria Copeta and Stefania Galante, works across product design, materials research, technological innovation and spatial design, collaborating with companies, artisans, institutions and research centres to develop projects in which culture, production and innovation mutually enrich one another.
For r+s Design Studio, design is not only the outcome of research but also the method through which research takes shape. Every project emerges from the observation and analysis of contexts, through a transdisciplinary approach, by listening to the needs of contemporary society and by imagining new possibilities for the present and the future. Traditional production techniques, craftsmanship, landscapes, memories and local knowledge are reinterpreted through contemporary languages, material experimentation and innovative processes, giving rise to projects that convey cultural value, sensitivity to context and respect for materials.
The studio's practice develops through the interplay between independent research and collaborations with the manufacturing sector. This continuous dialogue enables research insights to be translated into industrial and artisanal processes while, at the same time, transforming the needs of companies into opportunities for experimentation and innovation.
The project is conceived as a meeting point between culture, communities, industry and institutions. It does not merely fulfil a function; it builds relationships, tells a story and makes visible the values from which it originates.
Alongside the studio's professional practice, Rosaria Copeta and Stefania Galante are engaged in teaching and research as lecturers at the Academies of Fine Arts in Foggia and Lecce.
