The ‘Erbaria’ project was conceived to provoke reflection on the importance of biodiversity for the preservation of the human species, through the depiction, on cementine, of plants that grow between Apulia and Basilicata and that are included in the Red List of Italian Flora, the most complete inventory of the risk of extinction of species at a global level. Allium atroviolaceum, Campanula versicolor, and Stipa oligotricha Moraldo, crystallised in the cement matrix, represent the fossils of the near future.
Cementine is produced by Pavimenti Marra, with a focus on less waste of energy and resources and the recovery of processing materials.
