ORIENI
F.lli Coli, 2025

ORIENI takes its name from an ancient terracotta artifact that was historically used to create lightweight vaults, likely derived from amphorae, which were employed for the same purpose during the Roman era. A simple, necessary, and functional object—associated with the concept of lightness—it has been transformed into a perpetual calendar, with a secondary function as a desk container. This transformation evokes another kind of lightness: that of time, which, intangible, passes by while endlessly repeating itself. Infinitely reusable, the perpetual calendar—through the antiquity of its ceramic material and form—seeks not to exhaust its function. Through its aspiration to eternity, it invites reflection on the passage of time. Designed for F.lli Colì as a commemorative object for the event Mondial Tornianti in Tour, held in Cutrofiano (LE) on May 2–3, 2025.
